The Sloughi is
a numerically small breed in the UK. At present the breed
does not have champion status, although there are a few
championship shows that schedule classes for the breed. The
Sloughi Club was only founded in 1999 although the breed has
been in the UK since the 1970's it is one of those breeds
that has not been promoted and is still on the Rare Breeds
list with the UK Kennel Club. |

The DWZRV
club is over 100 years old, with around 5,000 members, some
500 of whom are breeders. It organises about 65 shows and
100 racing/lure-coursing events every year. More than 1,400
Sloughis are registered in the DWZRV stud-book. |
