La Fédération Nationale de Chasse
Traditionnelle, en collaboration avec
l’Association des Fauconniers Lekouassem d’Ouled
Frej, a organisé du 23 au 30 Décembre dernier,
la deuxième édition de la caravane de
ressourcement, inscrite sous le thème « L’appel
du Sahara », et dont les objectifs qui sont
multiples, consistent entre autre, à faire la
promotion de la chasse traditionnelle, tout en
mettant en valeur les rôles majeurs que peuvent
jouer le Faucon et le Sloughi Marocains dans ce
domaine. |

Between 23
and 30 December 2008, the
National Federation of Traditional Hunting, in
liaison with the Lekouassem Falconers
Association in Ouled Frej, organised a second
caravan expedition for exploring our origins and
resources under the theme "The Call of the
Sahara". Our objectives were varied,
covering the promotion of
traditional hunting while at the same time
highlighting the major roles that can be played
in this domain by the Moroccan Falcon and
Sloughi. |

L’autre finalité de cette expédition tout à fait
particulière, qui a fait son départ à partir
d’El Jadida, pour s’étendre aux merveilleux
espaces des confins du Sahara Marocain, est
aussi le balisage de potentiels circuits
touristiques, à connotation écologique, pouvant
s’intégrer en parfaite harmonie avec la logique
touristique Nationale actuelle, qui fait de ce
secteur son cheval de bataille, tout en
privilégiant le tourisme de niche et le tourisme
rural, avec comme prévisions la séduction de 10
millions de touristes en perspective de 2010.
Les participants à cette nouvelle édition, sont
venus de la Région de Meknès, de Marrakech, de
France et d’Espagne, en plus des représentants
d’El Jadida, pour donner une dimension
Internationale à cette manifestation. |
Another
of the aims of this
quite exceptional expedition, which set out from El Jadida
before moving outwards to those
wonderful areas in the furthermost reaches of
the Moroccan Sahara, is also to mark out
potential tourist routes - with ecological
connotations - that can be integrated
harmoniously into the country's current policy on
tourism, to make this sector its main
figurehead while at the same time encouraging
niche and rural tourism, with the aim of
attracting some 10
million tourists by around 2010.
People came
from many different places to take part in this
expedition - from around Meknes,
Marrakech,
France and Spain - plus representatives of El Jadida
- giving
a truly international flavour to this event. |

La nouveauté qui a marqué la rencontre de cette
saison, est le fait que les organisateurs de
cette expédition de chasse traditionnelle, ont
opté pour un itinéraire qui prend en compte la
dimension de la côte Sud du Maroc, en intégrant
dans le circuit le volet de la pêche à pied. Une
opportunité qui tend à diversifier les
attractions entre la chasse traditionnelle et
les plaisirs des langueurs maritimes, donnant
ainsi la possibilité aux participants de joindre
l’utile à l’agréable, en alternant les bivouacs
sous les dunes de sable du Sahara et la
découverte des paysages magnifiques des falaises
vierges de Lâarigate, Tikart, Amigriou, Tarouma,
Sidi El Ghazi, Boujdour, Cap Sebâa, Cap Diba, en
plus des embouchures d’Oued Chbika, Oued Lâagig,
Oued Oum Fatma , Oued El Ouaer, reserve d’El
Haîla, Khnifis, Cap Jubi, Oued Sakia El Hamra et
Oued Eddahab.
Selon Mohamed El Ghazouani, Président de
l’Association des Fauconniers, cette action qui
a connu un grand succès lors de d’édition
précédente, cible avant tout, cette saison le
repérage d’un circuit touristique d’envergure
Internationale qui met en évidence les
potentialités inestimables du grand Sud
Marocain, pouvant associer dans un même
itinéraire mer et désert avec la chasse et la
pêche traditionnelles comme pivots et
principales distractions. Et c’est là, selon ce
fauconnier et pêcheur émérite, grand connaisseur
des espaces Sahariens Marocains, une autre
opportunité, d’importance capitale, qui ne
manquera pas de sensibiliser les services
administratifs et d’intéresser les
professionnels de la promotion du tourisme en
quête de créneaux porteurs. D’autant plus que la
demande comme cela a été constaté à plusieurs
reprises est des plus intéressante, puisque
plusieurs personnes de différentes Nationalités
sont aujourd’hui très motivées par des
randonnées de ce type. |
A new
aspect to this season's get-together is the fact
that the organisers of this traditional hunting
expedition
opted for an itinerary that takes the
southern coastline of Morocco into
account by including the activity of shoreline
fishing (on foot). This is an opportunity which
helps to diversify the attractions between
traditional hunting and enjoyment of lazing
around by the seaside, enabling those taking
part to combine useful and pleasurable pastimes, alternating bivouacs under the
Sahara's sand dunes with exploration of the magnificent
unspoiled cliff landscapes of Lâarigate, Tikart, Amigriou, Tarouma,
Sidi El Ghazi, Boujdour, Cap Sebâa, Cap Diba, as
well as the river mouths of Oued Chbika, Oued Lâagig,
Oued Oum Fatma, Oued El Ouaer, the El
Haîla reserve, Khnifis, Cap Jubi, Oued Sakia El Hamra
and Oued Eddahab.
According to
Mohamed El Ghazouani, President of the Falconers Association,
this action, which was so successful
the first time round, aims above all this season to
identify a tourist circuit of
international scope which highlights the inestimable
potentialities of the Moroccan far south, with
the possibility of combining sea and desert into a single itinerary
with traditional hunting and fishing activities
as central hubs and main pastimes. According to
this highly skilled falconer and fisherman, with
his immense knowledge of Morocco's Saharan
regions, this represents another opportunity of
major importance that cannot fail to appeal to
government offices and to be of interest to
professionals in the tourist industry looking
for growth segments. Especially with demand that
has been observed on several occasions as being
of exceptional interest, since many people of
different nationalities are very interested
nowadays in expeditions of this type. |

C’est donc à partir de la ville d’El Jadida que
se sont ébranlées les premières locomotives de
ce convoi, dont les péripéties ont duré presque
d’une semaine d’émerveillement, de découvertes
et de plaisirs, avec comme incontournables
compagnons, le faucon et le sloughi Marocains,
en plus du Galgo Espagnol qui a rallié la
caravane de cette saison.
Un périple de quelques 4000 Km (Aller-retour),
dont les étapes principales se sont axées sur
Chichaoua,, Tikiouine, Tiznit, Biouzakarne,
Goulmime, Tan Tan , Aghfennir, Tarfaya, Tah,
Lâayoune, Boujdour, Lâakra et Dakhla.
Selon Soujâa Mohamed, Président de la Fédération
Royale Marocaine de chasse traditionnelle, et
Président de l’ANMOCT (Association Nationale
Marocaine de Chasse Traditionnelle), cette
initiative obéit à un double objectif. D’une
part, elle permet de sensibiliser toutes les
instances sur la nécessité de pérenniser la pure
race du sloughi Marocain qui est depuis toujours
d’une renommée Internationale, et dont l’espèce
ne cesse de péricliter localement au point de
faire craindre le pire, ensuite, et c’est là, le
point majeur de l’ expédition, cette action qui
porte en elle toutes les symboliques, est une
occasion d’aller à la rencontre de ses sources,
pour pouvoir s’imprégner des chaleurs de
l’immensité désertique et de celle des
concitoyens sahraouis, qui ont participé en
masse et activement à toutes les manifestations
ayant accompagné cette grande randonnée.
Au cours de cette expédition aux confins du Sud
du Maroc, il faut noter aussi la participation
d’éleveurs et chasseurs venus de France et
d’Espagne, en l’occurrence Isabelle Mossion,
accompagnée de ses Salouki race purement Arabe
et Christine, accompagnée des Galgo, race
purement Espagnole.
Selon ces invitées d’honneur, l’expérience est
exceptionnelle et le circuit une très grande
réussite, en matière de découverte et
d’hospitalité Marocaine.

It was
therefore from the town of
El Jadida that the leaders of this convoy were
to set off, on a journey that lasted almost a
week of amazement, discovery and enjoyment, with
such essential companions as the Moroccan falcon
and sloughi, together with the Spanish Galgo
which joined the expedition this time.
A trip of
some
4000 Km (there and back),
with its main stages focusing on
Chichaoua,, Tikiouine, Tiznit, Biouzakarne,
Goulmime, Tan Tan, Aghfennir, Tarfaya, Tah,
Lâayoune, Boujdour, Lâakra and Dakhla.
According to
Soujâa Mohamed, President of the Royal Moroccan
Federation for traditional hunting, and
President of the ANMOCT (National Moroccan Association
for Traditional Hunting), this
initiative complies with a twofold objective.
Firstly, it makes it possible to raise the
awareness of all authorities on the need to
perpetuate the purebred Moroccan sloughi which
has always had international recognition but
which, locally, is continually on the point of
collapse to the extent of fearing the worst.
Secondly, and this was the keystone of the expedition,
this action with all its inherent symbolism was
an opportunity to return to one's sources, and
be able to soak up the warmth of these vast
desert spaces and of Saharan fellow citizens who
participated - actively and in great numbers -
in all the events accompanying this major
expedition.
During this
journey
to the furthermost reaches of southern Morocco,
we must not forget the involvement of breeders
and hunters coming from France and Spain - Isabelle Mossion,
accompanied by her Arabian breed Salukis and
Christine, accompanied by her Spanish breed
Galgos.
According to
these guests of honour, the experience was
exceptional and the route a huge success, in
terms of both discovery and Moroccan hospitality.

Maroc veut redonner ses lettres de noblesse au
"sloughi", le lévrier arabe surnommé par les
habitants "El Horr" (le libre, l'authentique),
en relançant la chasse traditionnelle qui fut
interdite pendant plus de 40 ans.
